1) Basically, what Xerxes36 said. Moderators should be able to delete offensive content / content that breaks the terms, etc. And as you say below, the community is overrun with bitterness and a negative streak. Moderators should be able to ban the accounts that are causing this. The community needs to be managed, and the moderators should be trusted and able to make calls like that. It's like refereeing a sporting event - they are there to enforce the rules and manage the flow of play. Someone like LegoLewdite, Xerxes36 or ryanmontana would be my example of an ideal moderator. These guys have consistently produced excellent content, they appreciate a wide range of sites and are just generally great guys. They never get bent out of shape or rant in the comment threads. They would be fair and impartial moderators, in my opinion.<br /><br />2) Fair enough, I think this is probably a bad idea myself. It's just an automated system that can be gamed. I do think more active moderation is preferrable.<br /><br />3 + 4) I would agree that punishing new users is a bad thing - but I'd argue that offensive and puerile content & user flamewars also punish new users. What happened to Lastimero? By demonstrating that negative community behavior will not be tolerated, it indirectly encourages the talented new users to stick around and keep making great content, which ultimately is what makes this site so awesome. It'll also directly encourage new visitors to the site to stick around and browse.

The comment page is separate from the site. When you open the site, titled "wq.ytmnd.com", all you see is JOKE and Rick Astley. No reference to you in any way. The comment pages are open to the YTMND public to edit. Remember that titfish site? For some unrelated reason, almost every comment on that page got [-]'d. Just more proof that the comment page and site don't always relate.
