It's unfortunate to exclude the few that do submit good sites, but the majority of WoW, Everquest, etc. game addicts fall within that age group. I'd guess it's also the average age for fans of ebaumsworld, and the people who spammed HTPAT, as well as the habbo hotel raids. I first heard about YTMND in 2004 on a forum comprised mostly of members in their young 20s. I think the site started with mostly adults but slowly has been dominated by preteen & teen population overtime.

The point to be made is that I honestly believe that eliminating Top Voted and Top Rated hurts the actual quality of the sites that are made. I don't think it's a coincidence that the site has sucked ever since the front page was changed. Having that goal as a carrot for people to aspire to is going to elevate everyone's game. It's not just that good sites will go unseen, it's that in the long run eventually they won't be made at all.

Well, the Harry Potter Spoilers section is a resounding success. 1000s of sh*tty 'har har star warz spoilerz o teh itony' sites shall have flooded YTMND by the time the section is gone. It's like the World Cup Final Zidane mania all over again...not Max's fault, but boy do talentless idiots like to latch on to little gimmicks.

I totally agree with you. We should clean up the spoilers, wait until the minute the book is released, THEN post the spoilers. Because then it's fair game.
