The article's final paragraph is worth quoting here: "The RIAA opposed the motion because it makes it more costly to back out of cases where there is a shortage of evidence to get to court. So far the RIAA has taken dead people and grandmothers to court on the basis of its technical evidence. If a few more fought back, its attempts to lean on people to settle out of court before a trail might prove a bit costly."

Badmouthing an organization everybody hates, taking news I already saw yesterday from a far more reliable source ( arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060713-7257.html via digg.com/tech_news/RIAA_loses_in_file_sharing_case ) and misspelling "Fanfare" is an easy 5.

The RIAA will lose EVERY time it goes to trial. That's all you have to do, get it to trial.

The Inquirer and the National Enquirer have nothing to do with eachother. The Inquirer is a tech/hardware news website whereas the National Enquirer is a tabloid magazine. I just thought this should be posted since people often confuse one with the other. The Inquirer is a reputable source.

P.S. I gave your site one star since I read about this yesterday. Creating a YTMND about it doesn't really make sense to me.

Old news, but still great justice. That form of lawsuit and requesting what is in effect a bribe should have had a larger penalty. Maybe 3-4x court costs.
