A Feature Requesst: Anti-Sponsorship

This is a serious suggestion, submitted for the review of the YTMND community. I think Max, and YTMND would benefit from the bidding wars that are sure to ensue.

That has to be the stupidest idea i've ever heard. Whats to stop people that payed good money to put there YTMNDs up there, from sueing max if they don't stay up there? A policy agreement someone would have to sign? Well then max would lose money because nobody would want to spend money to get there YTMND featured, if it could be just as easily removed, thus wasting the YTMNDers money.
This is actually a good idea. As others mentioned, the anti-sponsoring would need to be lowered somehow. Maybe each anti-sponsor $ only counts for fifty cents? That, or leave a floor for sponsored ads. After crossing $100, they can never go below $50. This doesn't make the site into a "paid" site, as this war is waged simply on a small section of the front page.
You downvoters are RETARDED! "if you can anti-sposor ytmnds, no one would sponsor them at all!!!1" It's a damn rarity to see a ytmnd sponsored anyway! If your logic was true, everyone would sponsor everything all the damn time; they don't. Sponsorship, I mean REAL sponsorship, is a way of turning votes into money for YTMND. This would generate MORE money, since people would be in competition! You hear people say "No one will sponsor since someone can just downsponsor". But then couldn't you just...
This? A serious suggestion? Do youhave the mind of a 7 year old? If you are sick of seeing religous ytmnds, why are you sponsoring one that shows religeon, the athist religeon. And, the whole point of sponsorship is to help max, its not a f*cking popularity competition. Its a way of donating. You are a 7 year old who goes "oohohohoo! nooby is winning! No fair!" Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get the f*ck over it. This site is for expressing your thoughts, and, religeon is a thought. So, you want (C)
-2 for bad song choice, it doesn't fit at all. That will only ever work on max's ytmnd. -1 for a petition ytmnd, for something that was suggested a long time ago. I'd +1 this for sponsorship, but you didn't. If you are going to start a petition, you might as well sponsor it yourself to show your support. For all those, plus the fact it didn't involve anything creative at all, you get my 1. Sorry.
<At the moment, all anyone can do is "upvote" with their money. Using money to "downvote" is equally valid.&rt; I'm kicking myself for not realizing this earlier (read: not looking at all the comments before I post one of my own, shame on me), but would this be a bad time to tell you that 'downvoting with money' is, if you're in the US, illegal? hey, isn't nothing something? athiesm then, is a godless religion. It has a god, but is a religion no-less. notice the -ist at the end? If you have no religion then you should say " I have no religion". If you say that your athiest, your just saying you have no god, not no religion. the suffix -ist refers to a common group, a common belief. So, athiesm is not the absence of religion, its the absence of a god figure. You have been PWNED in logic. All yur brains r belong 2 me:)
Mouseman: Atheism is a belief system, yes. However, it is not Godless, but FAITHLESS, b/c you can not believe in god and still be spiritual and this is a religion (think Shintoism). Atheism is a religion, but a faithless one.
BTW downations aren't censorship b/c the sites aren't deleted, they're just moved. Donation isn't about buying and selling, it's about using votes to make money for the site. Why not have it both ways? You can pay max to alter his front page one way or the other. It's a bidding war
How about instead of anti-sponsorship, just give users the option to "block" a site. When you block a site, it won't appear on the frontpage for you anymore. This way, everyone who hates the religious sites can essentially "delete" the site from their ytmnd, while those interested can stay to discuss religion without bothering others. Problem solved. Thoughts?
What a stupid idea. Why would I want to sponser sites if some f*ggots can just turn around and "anti-sponser" them? It would lead to **less** income from sponserships.
A much much better option would be an "ignore" list each individual user an set up. That would make it so your eyeballs don't have to be harmed by seeing sites that you don't like in *any* of the digest lists.
