Again, blame it on the massive economic shift in 1992-98. It was psychotic. It went from 80 yen to the dollar in the early 90s to 145 yen in 1998. That's unheard of. Their money was worth literally half. For a westernized, thriving economy, it was like WWII all over again. The upheaval was so great, and is still pretty rough today, that suicides rose to epic proportions. That, and many workers would leave home daily, just to wander the local parks, too embarrassed to tell the family that their job is gone.

The ambience can remind of the classic "ghost town" place in several NES/SNES-era RPGs. The music just make it look like a place filled with despair.

Creepy as F*CK. Okay, suggestions: seems like the scroll time between pictures should be longer for effect. Also, isn't there some creepy photo of an abandoned caterpillar ride? That would go really well with this if you want to mix up the locations.

amusement parks are supposed to be for exactly what they say, amusement... places where people can have fun and get away from life's problems for a while. abandoned ones like this invoke feelings of sadness, loneliness, emotional pain and angst. you have displayed this juxtaposition well by showing these pictures and combining them with appropriately sad music. well done. 5'd and fav'd.
