You see, the problem is that too often, we have either a lazy (albeit nicely polished), or too directly literal reference (and it is precisely such articles which are the pretext for nihilistic downvoters). The irony, of course, is that the whole faux-culture is based on a literal rip from a movie, which, when repeated ad nauseum, takes on a droll veneer of humour. Like a vintage Sitsu piece, the present item does not beat one over the head; nor, on the other hand, does it pretend to mastery.
Above all, the success lies within juxtaposition. The explicit Doctor Who, together with the ubiquitous Will Ferrell (who, even if he is not cared for by many precisely owing to his ubiquity, may still find new life in new creations), creates a new animal. And although it must certainly be admitted that this animal could readily have been created by any number of players in the given cultural Space, the fact remains: one person was the first to do precisely this thing, in precisely this way.
