i swear to you that, until seeing this, I did not know there was such a team as the Atlanta Hawks. True, I don't care much about sports but still, in all my 87 years on this planet I somehow never once let it sink in that there was such a team. Imagine my surprise, upon googling them, thinking they must be some kind of farm league franchise, to find out that that's where Maravich first started in the NBA. I only care about Maravich because he was the One-Man White Harlem Globe Trotter.
Speaking of white NBA players and the Atlanta Hawks enjoy this short video of one of my most treasured memories: a 36-6 3rd Q beating put on the Hawks by Larry Bird's Celtics. In eliminating the Hawks from the playoffs in this 1986 game at one point Boston scores 24 straight points.
