Arktis, actually Gnosticism was the competing religion with Christianity. It was fundamentally salvation based on knowledge. This meant Gnostics had higher level educations i.e. they were literate. They were much more knowledgable when it came to theology and were privy to knowledge normal Christians could not even comprehend. If you absolutely had to pick a religion, Gnosticism is the absolute best. It's basically Christianity with a brain and common sense.
Also, for the record, Gnosticism is dead. While definitely superior to Christianity, it's still flawed fundamentally as it still takes the Sumerian myths and incorporates them into their own stories as "divine truths" just like every other religion on Earth. Until people understand the Sumerian culture and how every world religion emanated from our first society, religion will continue to be raped and poisoned by zealots and blasphemers.
People don't research history. They don't research theology. They don't research anything. They blindly follow one teaching that's easiest for them. It is in no regard to them how truthful it is, or factual, but rather only to their own personal truth does it matter.
