wow you must have never played D&D it uses a 20 sided dice system (aka D20) the 12 sided die is usually used for things such as spells or weapons (ex: the Greatsword uses a 1d12 damage roll) what you tried to referto was a saving throw, however those use a 20 sided die you also have to put into acount thibgs such as bonuses to the saving throw. Fortitude(bonuses depend on consitution) Reflex(bonuses depend on Dexterity) Will(bonuses depend on wisdom[not to be confused with intelligence])
