Full of pretention and some false information. Yes, it was featured on some Russian cat food, but the Default Copyright Law prohibits distribution of plagerized images for profit. YTMND, and Something Awful etc made gags out of it, yes, but did not slap it on a T-Shirt to sell it. People saying YTMND and Something Awful are the "homes" of Happycat aren't far off from accurate since the FAD originated from SA and found its way here.
If Myspace obtained legal documentation from the Russian CatFood company and/or the owner of that same cat, then Myspace did nothing wrong. Problem is, they trademarked it without permission as far as I know. YTMND doesn't even have to fight this war since the law will do it for us, but we help get the point across. ;p
Its not your f*cking job to decide whether or not someone can use media that does not belong to you. You can have your opinion, thats fine and dandy, but it is ultimately up to the company that LITERALLY owns Happy Cat. Now, had this guy stolen over and over after being told not to then I could see this as being WORTHY of YTMND. Unfortunately it is not. Its pathetic and lame. I'm willing to bet 80% of the "soldiers" battled because they thought NEDM was *theirs*. Silly children.
He put TM next to Rude Kitty, not the image. To "kt11126" - both entities that say they created the image in question are in the courts. It is not being played out by a bunch of retard little children with nothing to do. That is a bad example seeing as you didn't create Happy Cat, SA didn't create Happy Cat and YTMND didn't create Happy Cat. Would have been better if the company that owned Happy Cat had a say in the matter. But they did not, so your example = bad.
You COMPLETELY misunderstand whats going on here. We're not claiming the pic or the name, but it has become a part of the internet. If someone took goatse, reposted it on his website and called it sheepse and claimed he first put it on the internet, his site would be flooded with spamming so quickly it would be gone in less than a day. There are many different little things that make the internet the internet, and Happycat is just one part of a whole that we all love...
this jackass claimed a trademark on the picture the internet made famous, places his absurd name onto it, and wanted to change a fad on the internet. Then after we called them out, THEY 'declared' a war on US. They obviously had no idea who they were dealing with, as the fan-base here is much larger and more aggressive than they can imagine. YTMND isnt in any way appearing like ebaum or acting in any way they would. We're just part of the internet community, and when something stupid like this happens..
