Ultimately, one shouldn't feel too torn up after watching this because it reeks of fabrication. In the rare instance this isn't urban legend, I'm tired of the most personal parts of personal lives becoming viral internet sensations; this is the real tragedy. I'm flat out tired of viral internet sensations in general.
Multiple Sclerosis sucks. I am lucky that it has so far only f*cked up my sight for a few months back in 05, and I know it can get much worse. I don't like the fact that this is not done about you. This is a touching story, and I believe it is falsely appealing to people's emotions. It should have an end title card giving credit where credit is due. And if it is fiction, then you need to kill your children then be sterilized.
I will admit, though: Fiction or not, this was well made and the music was a great, if often used, choice. YTMND has evolved beyond picture, sound, and text to be a medium of story telling, and is not required to be funny. Those who don't understand that are trapped in the past and will be eliminated from relevance soon enough.
actually, because they were watching him so closely after his colon cancer, they found this one in time to get it, they think (this was another primary tumor, not secondary to the colon). 6 weeks of chemo and radiation, and they think his prognosis is ... well, better than most pancreatic tumors. It hadn't gotten to lymph nodes yet. Thanks for the sympathies though
Someone who has played the GameCube version needs to check this for me. I played the DS version and in that game you get letters from your in-game mom on a weekly basis, sometimes with gifts. If you hadn't played for a while, yeah, you'd build up some letters from "Mom". I think there's a chance that's what this story is talking about.

Wasn't the *original* YTMND a quote (a good one though) from a movie. From a script that writers obviously worked hundreds of hours on (cry*, sob*). I guess we'll all have to get angry at any site that uses something anyone else made (movies, video games, etc.) Jesus... No wonder the writers are on strike.

Some users did apply consistent voting of it since it was a straight rip, yet others have shown ambivalence about it. Still you make a good point. When did so many ytmnd'ers abandon reason for madness.
The original YTMND brought an otherwise obscure quote to life by combining the audio of it with a visual aid in the form of loud text and an image of the actor who said it. Its focus was on what those materials combined to create: the soul of a quote. It wasn't intended merely to focus on any of the individual things that composed it, as this does heavily on its borrowed, rehashed image.
The image isn't supposed to be emotional, it's farce. Poor song choice. You reformatted the comic; you didn't create anything. The song is sh*tty and it wasn't exactly a creative or original choice, and stealing some other work and putting a song behind it is not a creative exercise. Take away the image, and what is this site? Absolutely nothing. If the song enhances the image (which it doesn't since you didn't even understand the comic to begin with) then it still is just frosting on a cake you didn't bake
