Carl Sagan makes an excellent point here, but I don't think that this quote necessarily supports your claims against the religious. He's pointing out, and I agree with him, that we were put on Earth to help ourselves. That doesn't necessarily mean that we are alone. Honestly, if God were to give us everything we needed to survive and be happy, what would be the point of living? Would have 5'd it if you had left out Whetf*ck and his stupid fire and brimstone.
