As I am unable to determine who or where exactly the potential alt or collusion downvoting is coming from, I am attempting to restore any downvotes on the account "SusanTrepid" by upvoting the most recent comment section. You act like you know so much about libertarian philosophy or politics, but it doesn't seem like you actually do. That's the kindest way for me to put it. Libertarians prefer personal and economic liberty first over the structural style of government or how the leader gets power.<br /><br />Many even correctly point out that the USA was set up as a limited republic where representatives would serve as a buffer against the excessses of majoritarianism. In other words, things like religious fanatics not massing up at a vote to turn people of rival religions into criminals. Or perhaps most people in that country hate gays, jews, gypsies, etc. and would like to persecute them. This is a fairly mainstream libertarian view on things from Jefferson to Ayn Rand and even many libertarians and republicans today.<br /><br />Anarcho-capitalists like myself, on the other hand, have practically no concern for democracy, at least political democracy at all because we believe in no government at all, at least not the kind that is set up in a completely consensual manner, like an apartment rental agreement, or security contract. I suggest you read writings of Rothbard for more info or read 'Practical Anarchy' by Stefan Molyneux.<br /><br />Finally, there is even a well known libertarian professor who makes the case that monarchy is better for personal liberty than democracy with his book "Democracy: The God that Failed".

I didn't realize that particular song was a cover, but I had heard that, yeah. They are one of those bands I liked a lot in highs school, but don't have as much staying power, in my mind, as a lot of other bands from the 90's. Yes, the consumers have the ability to buy ever increasingly affordable products and services at a better quality from newer firms. Nowadays, we see this quite frequently with software, video games, televisions, computers, cameras, mobile phones. There are also other occurances, like with Uber and Lyft vs the old taxi companies. Today, some mobile phones have more computing power than a lot of desktops from even just 5 to 10 years ago.<br /><br />Even if we set aside this logic and modern day examples, all the related economic charts actually seem to show (between 1865 or end of US Civil War and 1914) that the alleged instability in banking you speak of was actually a good thing. Prices were falling for consumer goods. More and more people were able to afford some basic things we take for granted today. Exports from the USA were on the rise compared to imports. The industrial index grew. Technology improved. People joyously immigrated to the United States by the millions and sometimes made even enough money to send back to their home countries.
