In the wee hours

Just chiming in to assert my presence. Bug fixes/new feature/news inside.
I think I've tracked down and fixed the weird view count bug, it was only a display issue so I recalculated all the corrupted data from source. If you notice anything weird let me know please.
I also spent some time fixing/improving the /feed page. Once I test some more, I'll make it a save options to cookies and start making the privacy features actually work. So if you have any friends then go check it out.
One major new feature is the "Meebo Bar". It basically allows you to chat with your YTMND pals (as well as AIM and all the other services Meebo provides). Anyway, to try it out go into your options, enable it and refresh. It's not enabled by default to avoid all the nerd rage I'd get.
Sorry I don't have more for you; I've been working on a full-time contract job since the first week of 2010 (other than the few weeks off I took to launch 2.0). I haven't had much time to give YTMND some TLC; but the good news is that with the new ad placements, YTMND is doing well enough to pay its bills and as such I've decided to try to push the few people left on YTMND into doing something good for the world.
For those of you that haven't heard of Kiva, it's a site where you can give microloans to people in third world countries. The way it works, you loan a small amount of money to people in places like Cambodia, and they use it to start farms, food markets etc; over the next year or so, you get paid back small chunks of your loan, with interest. When all is said and done, you've loaned a stranger some money that you would have spent on POGs or whatever junk you kids buy these days, been repaid and in addition helped people in a nation disparaged by poverty prosper. So from here on out, if you use Kiva and forward the reciept to max@ytmnd.com or support@ytmnd.com, we'll put whatever amount you lend on Kiva towards site sponsorship on a YTMND of your liking. While you're at it, I've started a YTMND "team" there so the two of you with souls should join it. Everyone else will continue making KFC/Watermelon jokes while you are busy feeling superior.
Anyway, I wrote this news post a few days ago and mid-way through my internet connection went out so I decided to drink my way through it, hopefully some of it made sense. I'll update with a new contest by the end of the weekend.

When someone makes a bunch of accounts in one day, like lurg when he's off his meds or muskox did yesterday when he made ten accounts in our hilarious alt war, is that because max changed the "you can only make one account every 24 hours" limit that we had before? Or did they just use diff't IP addresses? I'm too lazy to try to make a few today to test it.
Also, are you sure that gr33rnscr33n isn't muskox? I wasn't sure if it was part of the gr33nscr33ndouche, gr33nscr33ndouche1, gr33nscr33ndouche2, gr33nscr33ndouche3, learntonotbeadickhead, youstartedthis, yoursitessuckanyway, stopbeingadouche, justadmityoureanasshole, knowyourtrolls, and k3rrav0n army he built yesterday. (aside from the pleadingly unfunny alt names, I otherwise support his public raging...but not his shitty Radiohead cover)

A lot of anti-abuse rules went out the window with the new design. Max's theory was it's easier for him to get rid of those sites. The only problem is he forgot he doesn't care what goes on until he happens to see a bunch of sites complaining about the abuse in the sponsored section.

I guess maybe it was that guy who stalks lickit for whatever reason. You know the one who was using the similar name? He was upvoting me with his alts last I knew though. I should have figured I wouldn't keep a troll as a fan very long. I don't care, I didn't like the site. But that's where it is now - first 12 votes 4.88 rating. Next 12 - 3.20.
And about what Hank said, Max does respond if you contact him but I've always been hesitant about bothering him via email about stuff like that. There may be no reason to be but, I am.
Max needs a buffer.

Does anyone know who the original farkle and subsequent farkkkle are? I've always assumed they were alts of another user who probably made normal-ish sites. Maybe a poland army user or whatever.
But yeah, I don't know why max would delete an account that hasn't made a site in a while and yet leave the spam bot acc'ts intact. All I know is he's making it damn hard to 1 every moon man site on ytmnd when the numbers keep changing!

So it seems to me the best way to keep max from logging into YTMND for a week is for me to post a site and ask him to do something about the user who downvoted it with half a dozen alts.
I mean, I know these sites aren't anything special but the kids seem to respond to them. And remember, kids is the future!

During a 10 week stretch this summer I made 23 sites with this profile that were received so well I now rank in the top 150 users who have ever made a YTMND. Top 150 out of 50,000.
If trolls like lacrossestar83 and whoever has that farkkle account now are simply allowed to downvote my sites off the front page with alts - and troll my comment pages not just with their bitter obsessed faggotry but also use alts to control that page's comment - I, currently the highest rated active YTMNDer, obviously am not going to make sites in that environment.
And Eric, man in his 20s who has never kissed a girl but who is obsessed with a middle-age man he's never met and who thinks he's retarded, do a comment search and find how many posts you've made about this very subject. Of course your posts ignore that the only time I ever did was to counter LS83s abuse - which has been going on for years.

No no no, you used "whomever" as the subject of the sentence, albeit within parentheses. "Whom" should only be used in the objective case, while "who" is used as the subject.
For example:
Who owns prairiedogericstar83?
Prairiedogericstar83 is owned by whom?
Even if the word order is changed slightly:
Umfuld was downvoted by an account whom he at first believed to be lacrossestar83.
Even though it's not preceded by a preposition, it is still in the objective case. A good rule of thumb is if it's not one of the subjects then it is likely in the objective case and therefore should be "whom" instead.
But consider this:
Umfuld is the one who was downvoted.
There it's referring to the subject and so "who" is still used.
Now here's a tricky one:
YTMNDers disagreed as to who they thought owned Prairiedogericstar83.
There the entire clause is the object of the preposition, not just "who," and so the entire clause should be treated on its own, like so:
Who owned Prairiedogericstar83?
Try and figure out the right answers for these ones:
Umfuld decided to downvote
who
ever he saw first.
Give the 5 stars to
who
ever seemingly deserves them.
Another good rule of thumb is to replace "who" and "whom" with "he/she" and "him/her" in their own little clauses. If it reads as "he/her" then it's "who" and if it's "him/her" then it's "whom"
By the way, I don't really give this much of a shit about grammar, I just like fucking with you.
