Was there some sort of news recently about the website being killed off? I just assumed it would be up for all eternity.<br /><br />The code base (complete with revisions) arguably should be open sourced though so it could live on. That, and the site content (aside from users/passwords, for obvious reasons.)<br /><br />I've been wanting to implement a version of the 2007 YTMND with HTML5 support for a long time. This place is just one of those things that needs to be preserved (and upgraded) like 'ole Ventrilo.

I've got a few ideas here and there for low-effort stupid sites, but it's just not the same without the wide audience, from the silly incoherent comments to the angry people who think I'm seriously "anti-fad" or whatever. <br /><br />I've said before that I can't "think" the way I used to in 2005-2009 when I was at my most inspired, but that's not entirely (if at all) true because houseofcards and I still joke about stuff on this site all the time and still have plenty of ideas. It's hard to find motivation nowadays though, and that's the main problem. <br /><br />I still love this site though. YTMND was a weird way for me to "lash out" at my crippling online anxiety and seeming inability to learn any fancy image/sound editing techniques/software when the site started to get more popular in late 2004 or so. I wasn't really angry or "anti-fad" or whatever. I was just a bored young adult; an awkward (though admittedly charismatic) kid with no education, no job, and no prospects for the future save for video games, so making sites was a good way to relieve that. <br /><br />And I guess we kept going from there. Purposely bad fad compilations mutated into noise sites, which mutated into me trying to make sites based off of incoherent stream-of-consciousness ramblings about current YTMND fads interspersed with random messing around in Goldwave. When I say its hard to "think like that" anymore, that's what I'm getting at: I can do the rambling text okay for a bit before I think "Yeah, I'm not really feeling this anymore", and I can't do the Goldwave thing without it feeling too forced.<br /><br />But like I said, I still love this place. I love the little history we left behind on it, where we just did "parodies" of what's popular and continually tried to out-absurd or out-loud each other, both through sites and through comments.<br /><br />Sorry for the long, stupid comment.

Put me down for #2.<br />I have no idea how disgusting or related to pedophilia these Stephanie sites were in the past and if they were, that's awful, but they haven't been in a long time. All I can tell you is this one is not and it's also far better than anything in up and coming right now. I have no idea why you would rally people to down vote a site that's actually creative and took hard work to create based on an old grudge that is no longer relevant while for months ytmnd has been flooded by spam and then up voted by a voting block of spammers. This is how ytmnd will die. Not just "Ha ha, ytmnd is dead", but actually die. Borepedo and his ilk might have deluded themselves into thinking that it's some kind of artistic statement, but the fact of the matter is that the fad is pure pedo bait.
